    I would say schecter too ! Every metal (guitar) player know them but we don't see the basses often. I own a damien-5 and it play really great.

    Painting Bass

    yes, you can get a "good" finish but you will need to sand it after with sandpaper if you do. I used a brush to paint the plywood body on my charvette and it give a correct finish.

    Yes, the gain on the amp is approximately at 5 and the volume on the bass s at the maximum. I know if the compressor could be a part of the problem. Thanks for answering.
