Mine is tightened up as much as it will go (ie, 17.5) as I also prefer 16.5, and have sold a perfect shuker 6 string as I couldn't get on with the 18. Its not ideal but it is better

I did too, couldn't get on with the sound and at the time it would have cost more than it was worth to put nords in so I got rid of it. The pickups are more available now.

Good choice, they work very well in that bass. Which I guess is what Ibanez thought too.

The Nords don't sound like EMGs - they are less polite. But the EMGs in the Spectors sound different anyway. The Nords on the 1505 are the Big Splits, which sound maybe a bit rounder than the big singles, but very little in it. I have big singles on my SR1605 and 2605. But hard to say because...

My EHB1505MS came with a broken headstock, it has been since renecked (maybe by ibanez, I am not sure, it was a bit of a mess up getting it replaced).

I would stick with what you have but keep an eye out for something interesting at a good price. Who knows if you would get in that big group, and if you were in that big group whether you would want to go into the PA.
