I believe that the root of the problem is that there is little money to be made in building guitar and bass cabs. It starts out as a hobby, some interest is generated in the way of the next big thing and seemingly the hobby has made the jump into being a business. None of it stacks up though...

12126, built one, love it. I guess I'm in the minority but i like to get my cab loaded in in one trip. My volvo estate spoils me for space. I just stick it on the folding dolly, it's only 70lbs anyway. 1X12 in each hand? Not for me even if they're light.

I solved the problem of cab too low years ago by carrying a jigsaw in the car and cutting a hole in the stage. Sure, I look weird sticking out of the hole waist up but I can hear them mids better than ever.

As ever, this is a situation where the borrower understands little of the relationship between excursion and EQ settings. Set the bottom end EQ settings at no greater than flat and leave them there. Boosting the low EQ will drive that little 12 out of the box. Better still, don't lend gear.
