    Essex bass club part 9

I have exactly that same bass (black J with white PG and rosewood fretboard). In fact, here in Argentina, almost all the SX basses have that HS, just a very few have the "fish-hook". That's why I'm so desperate to grab a whitish P one, before the new batch with the evil HS arrives :scowl...

    Essex bass club part 9

Well, here is a strange case. IMO, this bass with the dark theme and black tuners is the only one I think the new HS would fit better. Still beautiful tho. :bassist:

I knew it! :hyper: But one question comes to my mind now... if that HS is "pre SX decal", then we can assume that HS is the oldest model of all. I thought the "fenderish" one was the oldest.

Who knows... maybe some kind of short for the old 'Essex' brand? I really don't know, just my shot in the dark.

    Essex bass club part 9

Gratz on that one, absolutely gorgeous. I'm looking for a whitish P with the oldest HS here in my country, but most of them are black. My J is black, so I'll try to hold my horses and wait. But it's soooo hard!!! Those pics makes me realize that rosewood necks are not favorites in this SX...

    Essex bass club part 9

Yes, it's been said. But is always good to fresh up that point cuz it's a BIG DEAL. I still think that some of the SXperts should make a priority mod list so the less experimented (like myself) could go in the right direction when we're in the mood for some changes. Something like: 1. Change...

    Essex bass club part 9

I say go for the J. I can not live with out the bridge pup. When I'm in the mood for a fatter sound, I simply turn up the neck pup. That's the beauty of the J bass, you can go either way, and that's not the case with a P. Ok, I know the neck J pup it's not the same compared to a P pup, but it's...

    Essex bass club part 9

First off, thx guys for the advices. I must say that the mod i'm planning wil not occur for a while. The reason is exactly what you all were saying... I want to test it as much as I can. So far, the only thing that i'm not too happy about is a lot of noise when I turn the tone up all the way...

and it starts...modding the Squier 60's CV P

You have no idea the impact you just had on me. In fact, i'm thinking in printing that quote of yours and stick it in my wall, screwdriver in hand and ready for whatever happens :ninja: I can't wait to see this project finished. Gratz on your job AND your balls man, seriously. True inspiration.

    Essex bass club part 9

Hi all, i'm from Argentina and looking for some info found this thread. Just got my SX J bass, and it came with the old headstock (the fenderish one). I guess that living in the third world and having the old stuff in our stores is not that bad after all :p Now that i noticed the new...
