    source audio c4

Hmm so the patch titled Simple Bit Crusher tracks polyphonically very nicely on my bass. I like it a lot. It sounds good and responds basically as fast as I can play. There is another patch titled House Bass Stab that also sounds great, but it imposes a sort of speed limit on my playing, and...

    source audio c4

I just got my C4 Synth and I've been having a blast. I tried a bunch of presets, and I found several that I'm ready to start working on a tweaking. A couple of things. Most of the presets are not polyphonic. When I try to play chords, or when I don't make sure to absolutely mute any and all...

    Nice Rack!!!!

GK 700RB-II rack setup with a Klark DN504 4 channel compressor and a Peavy 3/4 crossover unit. The setup is to get 3 or 4 bands of compression of the bas signal. Right now I have it running as a three band setup but it could be setup for 4 bands. Effects are on the board.

How do compressors add note definition?

It isn't just attack, but attack is definitely one of the main controls that contribute to the sound that you're describing. I love the sound of "pumped" compression. Longer attack times, short release times, high ratios and low thresholds will result in this sort of pumping sound.

    Dealing with multiple basses

I have been considering some small, cheap, simple attenuation pedals. EHX makes one.

    Scale Computer de Groot

This is absolutely lovely Would be great to see this accompanying a visualization of the fretboard (5 string standard tuning perhaps) so that the various patterns for these different scales (notated in integer notation) might be more easily conceived. Thanks!

    Integer Notation Theory Resource

One of my interests in integer notation is that it seems to be a notation that is much less centered on the diatonic scale, and while I'm only interested in integer notation as applied to the twelve tone equal temperament system, it seems like integer notation would more readily lend itself to...

    Integer Notation Theory Resource

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a book, instructional series, or similar recommendation for a moderately comprehensive dive into music theory but in integer notation and ideally with some additional explanation done tying such instruction to fretboard patterns? Thanks!

    Sub Octave for EDM/Hip Hop

Hey all! I am looking for a sub octave pedal to add some sub-bass to my sound. The goal is to give a more EDM or hip-hop/modern R&B sound to my band's original rock and funk. Ideally a small footprint as well as relatively budget, maybe $50-$150 new or used. Wanting something than can be...

    Multi-track multi channel looper

Bump for still looking for a looper solution. The Ditto X4 appears to only be single channel. I am not sure if the stereo/mono in and out can be run as a two channel looper. Additionally both the X4 and the Pigtronix only have 1 stop button. Ideally I would like to have two stop buttons, one for...

    Active or passive basses?

I like having the tone shaping that active basses provide, but I dislike all off the issues associated with batteries and most problematic for me recently is the fact that many of my active basses are SIGNIFICANTLY hotter than my passive basses, and so all of my pedal and amp settings are void...

    History of Subs, Bass

I was born in 1993 and my first ever live concert I remember was in 2001. I started going to EDM "raves" and house shows as a teenager (while playing trumpet and clarinet in elementary, middle, and high school Jazz band). There was a stark difference between the experience of bass and sub bass...

    History of Subs, Bass

Just found this little bit on another forum: "Almost everyone from 1970-1995 who had a home stereo setup had the best audio experience that's worth chasing. What's most important by far is to be using the gear that the record manufacturer anticipated you'd be using."

Budget Ray, Sub vs. 35 vs HH

How do the Ray5 and Ray35 compare?

    History of Subs, Bass

Wonderfully articulated, thank you! Now what about the presence or lack thereof of sub-bass in rock? Is it that a real kick and bass guitar just don't actually produce much in the way of sub bass frequencies?
