Most of these are a minutia of wood options for the body, finishes, etc. The big exception is that the 1406 you mention is neck-through whereas the rest are bolt-on. AFAIK, anything that has Nordstrand pickups is on the same quality tier, the difference is entirely the body.

Here I am lusting over an Ibanez SR5006. The thing is, I already have a SR1206, which is exceedingly similar. So it's not like I'm lacking much at the moment. Realistically though, my next bass is actually a guitar: I've been reeallly hankering to get one of these.

For one, I think it's mostly a myth that you can show a label how good your EP is and get signed that way in this day and age. If a label is going to sign a band now they want: A band that can build a following proof that they can tour a good stage show proof they can move a product proof...

I always use the DI out of the back of my head now, despite having a sansamp in the pedal chain. Reading stuff here, kinda glad I do it that way. :D
