Well if I can sell my new fender road worn 50s P bass will be getting a active schecter P bass.
Just got mine so I'm GASsed out for a while. A Fender Jazz MIM active 5. It's a beauty! Black body with tort pickguard and rosewood fretboard. Plays like a dream and growls like the devil!

I'm thinking Warmoth. Three different builds, and I spontaneously decided today that I'm going to name my Warmoth-wish builds:
1) The Writer
A double neck P/Strat body, unfinished. J profile neck on the P side, I'm pretty easy going with guitar necks, now... Probably just a P or MM pickup on the bass side, one humbucker on the strat side. I have this perverse notion that a doubleneck will make me more productive as a songwriter. It's also the least likely of the builds I would execute.
2) The Lead Bass
A Bass-VI body and neck, unfinished on the body. Not as many options with a Bass VI build, so I'll simply go with a fairly vanilla build. Pretty much just a toy to have around the house to noodle with, although it might make the occasional appearance on stage, and it would definitely make every studio trip... It's also the second least likely...
3) The Tedious
Jazzmaster IV body, unfinished. Roasted maple neck, reverse tele headstock, blocked and bound. Still going around on the hardware, except the pups, my luthier started winding his own last year, by now I think he's got it figured out, but currently thinking Babicz FCH for the bridge, and Hipshot on the headstock, but I change my thinking on that weekly. Oh yeah, no nut either, I'll get my luthier to set it up with a zero fret, I play open a lot, so it would be worthwhile for me. Probably would only make stage at home, but defo another one that would make every studio trip.
In any case, no Warmoth finish for me, an old bandmate is a tattoo artists and a damn fine painter, I'm sporting some of his artwork on my right leg, so why not on my next bass? And he's done instruments before, so he knows the pitfalls, and it will work out a ways cheaper than a laminate top and a fancy burst that I would otherwise select.

The T-40 in my avatar is on its way as of a few hours ago. After that, I think I'm set for basses until I can get a mega-fancy custom job made in the distant future.
I am pretty satisfied with my current stable of 7 basses.. Out of those 7 two are 4s , 4 are 5s and one is a 6... Truth be told .... if I were pressed to sell one, especially one of the 5s, I would have a hard time deciding which one to let go... and I don't really need another bass ... Having said that .. there are still a few other basses I would like to check out ... I am not really gassing for them mind you... It isn't like everytime I come on here I am looking in the classifieds to see if one is there (like I did with a few of my current basses..) ...... but if I did have some extra cash ... I could see myself picking up one or all these basses on this list at some point ...
Sire M7 - I am very curious about this bass... on paper it looks great and honstly .. I guess you could say this is the closest to the "gas" bass out of all of them...
Some kind of P/J or P?MM bass... still not sure which..... I a,lways wanted to find out what the deal was with that P thing.. and I was just not that impressed when I played one in a store but then... I really don't think you can get a really accurate picture of a bass while in a store... unless it is just extremely good or bad....
A G&L 2500 ... I am really curious about this bass as well.... I would like to see what the end result of Leo's dream was....
What is on your list? I am not talking about fantasy basses ... or what would you get if you had 7K to spend on a bass... or even what bass are you actually planning to get next ..... just what kind of real world stuff is potentially down the road for you if it works out that way.....
Zon Billy Gould model. Nothing else like it on the market. I already owned a Zon Sonus V and a Zon Sonus Special IV. Can't wait to get my hands on the BG model.
A fretless 5-string Jazz would be nice. I had one and had to sell it. Terrible mistake.

The EBMM neck thru Stingray 4 string really caught my eye. But the official targets are a Spector Forte 5 and a Fender American P-bass (4 string, passive, black w/ black pickguard, maple fretboard). I only own one 4 and one 5 string, both are good quality Schecters and I am quite satisfied with them, so I am holding out for a good deal.
Still want a Rickenbacker 4003 but realistically I'm picking up an SX from a friends pawnshop to hotrod...badass bridge new pups etc.

I'm selling my Dillion Rick copy a fine bass, an OLP Music Man, and an Epiphone EB3.
I actually should get rid of a few more but don't see the need to. The GAS was finally cured after I got the MTD Kingston Z5. I didn't even expect that one but, it was offered in a trade for my T-40.
But, I'll play along and say maybe I would get an Ibanez fanned fret 6. Not necessarily a possibility but if everything fell into place why not.

Here I am lusting over an Ibanez SR5006.
The thing is, I already have a SR1206, which is exceedingly similar. So it's not like I'm lacking much at the moment.
Realistically though, my next bass is actually a guitar:
