I've got one of these arriving tomorrow. A mexican guitarron
The Deluxe Series MIM PJ in seafoam green that I have is flawless. Could easily pass for a $1500 bass. Wonderful jazz neck with impeccable fretwork. Very easy to play and versatile tone. And it looks great.I'm going with one of these.
My next bass will be a Ric 4003 in midnight blue. I've quit looking at anything else to avoid distraction/ temptation while I'm saving up for it.
My next bass will most likely be a six string. I've been really interested in moving up to six and I'd love to have that option for certain situations. I'd need one to be reasonably priced. Maybe under $1500.
So I've been looking at a Yamaha TRB6ii Based on what I've read it's probably the most bang for buck six string on the market. There's a really nice one on reverb for $1200 currently.
I'm also looking at a dependable 4 string as my current only basses are a Bossa OBJ and an Ibanez GWB35.
I'm thinking I could get a deal on a Modulus VJ4. It would be good to have a 4 string around.

I have owned 3 6ers... My first was a MTD Kingston KZ6 ... I got it here.. it was not a bad bass .. but it really did not speak to me.. and I think I may have had a little buyers remorse because to this day it was the most expensive bass I ever bought.. I could not get into the whole 6 thing at the time so I sold it.. but I got the 6 urge again about a year later so I bought a used Brice Z6.. Not a bad bass.. but it was heavy as all get out.. heavier than my 78 J at 11.6 lbs.. so I sold that... but my 6 curiosity had been fed .. and by that time I was introduced to one of the most underrated bass manufacturers on the market... Peavey.. I had the fretless bug around the same time I had the 6 bug with that first MTD 6.. but the fretless bug did not last after I got a fretless Cirrus.. but I was definitely totally enamored with the Cirrus bass.. so I traded my fretless 5 for a bolt on fretted 5 agaoin here on TB.... and eventually I came across a Peavey Cirrus 6 that I decided to get based on my love of Cirrus basses and the specs on it.. I got it locally from a local TBer... and I have not regretted it.. If you can find a Cirrus 6 anywhere.. especially if it has the Millenium pre in it.. consider it.. They are fantastic basses..

Getting an Ibanez Talman TMB-105 to leave at my cousin's house for when I visit. Maybe my nephew will take up bass while it's there. If I act fast enough, I can rescue him from guitar lessons.
My next bass, I'm almost certain, will be my first 6. I've got a classic P, a j-style, a "fun" bass, and a 5-string (and a fretless MIM J & ATK305 I'm planning on selling)...and that's a pretty huge range of sounds for about any situation.
But I want to do some weirder & more exploratory stuff, and get some more unorthodox sounds in traditional band settings.
And I have an open space on my stand.

I'd have to say either a Sadowsky Jazz, a Dingwall Super P or J, or a grey Fender Aerodyne.

I'm not a gasaholic, but there are a few things I'd like down the road
1. Some sort of semi hollow or hollow.
2. Some sort of p/j
3. A fancier 6 string of some sort (cliff bordwell?)
4. Something with non traditional pickups

I'm pretty set on a P Bass at this point... Definitely gonna go with stainless Rotos to balance out the buttery silkiness of the Sadowsky flats on my Jazz.
Awfully partial to the AVRIs, though the idea of spending half the dosh on a Classic Lacquer model and dropping an EMG Geezer into it is slightly more appealing to my wallet.

Well since I just bought my 5th (a beautiful ESP Ltd B-4E) from a fellow TBer that is on its way, then that one doesn't count, right??? 
My next bass will be a Fender P or PJ. If i were dreaming, I want 4-strings, p-body, jazz neck, short scale, and any color *except* sunburst and tort... LPB maybe? Maple neck if it's light colored, ebony if dark. I really really like the new Fender Deluxe Active Precision Bass Special. It is perfect except the limited colors and long scale. Neither of which is a show-stopper, but it prevents it from being my 'ideal".

I really don't think I have another bass in me. I've got 10 now. It's ridiculous for a guy who hates to bring more than one to a gig. I've got a couple nice PJ's that sound the same for my main basses, a P with flats, a P Lyte that I don't use much anymore, an active 5, an active 4 with a whammy bar, a Dano, two violin basses, one of which I never use anymore, and a pieces parts PJ fretless that only serves to frustrate me. Plus I have a broken 60 EB-0 carcass that needs some serious resto and I threaten to do it every year but haven't so far.
