What bass do you plan to get next?

I want a 30" short scale P/J, good quality. 3 or 5 piece laminated maple neck, rosewood board. Alder, ash, or mohagany body. Tung oil finished. Active and passive switchable electronics. Heavy bridge. That's what I'm GASsing for.

I'm not playing much so an acoustic bass would be fun to have, I sold an Italian made '90s Eko BA-01 coz I felt uncomfortable with jumbo bodies and long scale necks, so I guess next time it will be different.

BTW, I just got myself a Limited Edition (for 2016) Fender American Standard PJ (500pieces all over the World), but having done that I put away the idea of giving myself an Am. Std. J.

A J is always in my mind, as it is for a Music Man Classic, but damn, they'r pricey here in Europe. And then there's a '51 style P. But I would like to get one with nitro finish on. And, hey, that's hard as well.

Besides, an hollow body would be fine too!

That is a 55-02 in the picture...

The Laklands are nice.. I have a 55-01 and it is just an all around great bass.... at one time I had a Kingston KZ , a Heir, a 55-01 and a 55-02... I decided to keep the heir and the 55-01 and sell the 55-02 and the KZ .... In case you don't know the Heir and the 55-02 share the same pup config... as do the 55-01 and the KZ... The 55-01 stock has the switchable MM pup though.. so I replaced the pups on my Heir and set it up like the 55-02 and couldn't be happier.

Thanks. I've been looking at Birdsong for a while now. My friend has one and it's really nice. I wasn't a fan of the Lace pickups in my friend's unit, but not Birdsong has P and other pickup options.

Been interested in the Sire M7 but am pretty comfy with what I have now. Well I guess I could use a fretless.

Now I suffer inadequacy, and kowtow in everyone's direction, for I am unworthy. My first bass was a Peavey Foundation, which I had to return. Second, years later was a Squier Affinity Jazz, which I sold because i couldn't eat it and wasn't good enough to get anyone to pay me (and not so bad they'd pay me to stop, either). Then, about 5 months ago, scored a Dean starter pack, first owner never opened it. That started things again, and to replace the Jazz I gave up, I just now bought another Squier, this time the Jaguar Special.

Never again will I have to sell a bass for food.

Still, Deans, Squiers and the occasional really thick rubber band are all that are in my reach. I can't even afford to look at what eveyone else is buying.

My next goal is something to replace the Dean Bassola amp... maybe soonish.

My current rig is all hi-fi modern sounding with an ample amount of pedals and modulators.
I am looking to put together a straight forward minimalist more conventional sounding rig:

A Fender Precision Bass American Vintage Reissue '63

or

Sadowsky Vintage 4-21 (NYC)

or

Mike Lull PJ 4

with an all tube amplifier (vintage Ampeg), if not then an all tube preamp section in a class D portable format amplifier (leaning towards a GK MB Fusion 500)
