Correct. By definition the sub does not have a mid. It's just the woofer. Every cab will have it's own mid paired with that woofer. There is no 'cab' without the mid; that would be a 'sub'.

You don't need one if you have one cab. You don't need one if you have more than one cab (since they will all have mids too). The switch is only needed if you ever plan on adding a sub. The switch unpads the mid to allow it to keep up with 2 woofers.

That sounds sweet especially w the envelope filter. And it only costs $700 to get that sound with the filter, lol.:bawl:

If you're adding a sub you need a spdt switch on the mid crossover to unpad the mid driver. Otherwise the mid will not be able to keep up with 2 woofers. It will require modifying the mid crossover board, cutting a hole in your 15/6 and installing a switch, and adding the wiring to connect...

I have no details to go on wrt the injury, but how about attacking the problem from the other end: Do rehabilitation/strengthening for your back so you can get back to handling the 15/6?
