Wow, Duke, thanks. I do understand well what you are saying, and I am quite used to EQing for my fEARfuls in a way that would look to most as extreme. I use an M9 carbine or a GK mb800 for my electric gigs—so I have power to push that kind of low bumped curve into 8, 4, or 2 ohms.
Can the TC115-8 be configured as upright friendly? I seem to recall that it can. I will check the BG reviews. Thanks!![]()
Yes, the TC115-8 can easily be fitted with the "acoustic friendly" rear-firing tweeter. That adds about 1.5 pounds.
The TC115-8 is essentially a "second generation" cab, in that it uses a butt-cheeks style horn which gives improved dispersion in the vertical plane, useful for when you're jammed almost on top of the cab on a tight stage. This is an improvement for upright as well, as we're getting more upper-octaves energy out into the reverberant field, and thereby doing a bit better job of simulating an actual acoustic instrument.
I'm not sure this necessarily translates directly to Island Music, but it is arguably a commentary on the cab's versatility - my first TC115-8 owner recently posted about how the cab performed on an electronic drumkit:

What frequency(ies) are you boosting into your fEARful to get that Island sound, if I may ask? I want to do some modelling, as my 115 does fall short of the mighty fEARful 15/6/1 in air-moving capability.
