Willing to work on album artwork

So, I do a decent bit of design and fine arts sort of stuff, and have done artwork for a few local bands :smug:(Workhorse, Nifty Breed, Sargasm, all of which kick ass btw and it'd really tickle their tummies if you checked em out over facebook) and have been wanting to get other projects to work...

    Gear issue...

So, I own an ESP B305, bought it for $370 (~$420 after tax a a fret dressing) and have been playing avidly on it for the last year and a half, and am coming up on my second year of playing bass. I'm mostly self taught besides for some lessons for guitar, which gave me a sort of basic knowledge...

what are your favorite bands with good bass or bassists

Obscura, bassist is Jeroen Thressling, songs that show him off are "Septuagint" and "Anticosmic Overload" Primus, bassist is Les Claypool, though every song is really just Les, a few goodies are "Extinction Burst" "Frizzle Fry" and "Tragedy's a' Comin'" Necrophagist, bassist is _________ (not...

Looking for a very "clean" sounding bass

^^Sort of what I was hoping to hear. I was thinking of maybe Bartolini soaps, seeing as I'm not about to route out anything new on this thing. Have you heard of any pickups that will have this sort of sound to them?

Looking for a very "clean" sounding bass

I've been looking at trying to find a bass that has a very crisp and clear sound. I've sort of grown to think of Zon basses as perfect to achieve the kind of sound I want, but a $2000 bass is out of both my price and skill range, so I was curious if there were any less expensive, but just as...

    more basses = less skill?

I think that if a bassist can own 20 basses, and knows the insides, outsides, sweetspots, tone settings and string setup for each, and can show each one a good bit of loving, then why the heck not. I do personally know some "Gearwhores" who literally buy gear, and talk a big game, and cant play...

    Fretless = WOW

Ibanez's are notorious workhorses i find, and a new SR35 fretless runs arund $400 new, and an Ibanez GWB (Gary Willis Bass) will be around $475 used, and is definitely worth that money. Other than that theres Wishbass if youre up for the modding, or Brice...but idk much about brice...Id go...

    Another unbelievable Ebay price

I don't even...I mean its literally THE most expensive bass on the site. Even more than the $50,000 Status. Can someone explain how this price makes any sort of sense? His description is pretty...well after the first few lines I felt he was pulling it all out his ass and stopped reading. I know...

will a brave soul try to help identify this bass for me?

Thank you all for that! Without that I definitely would have only found that out if one day I stumbled upon Vigier and matched the headstock...never heard of these guys...interesting stuff they got...

will a brave soul try to help identify this bass for me?

Can't find any info on it on the Necrophagist myspace, since apparently he's not sponsored. But I love the sound he gets and I've never seen this company before...any thoughts?

    Your philosophical meaning of Bass

I think bass should definitely have a nice low end to give the live sound some actual body, but should still be crisp enough that, when it peeks through the guitar at certain key moments, its still definable and has a nice mid-treble tone. The key points could be Les Claypools famous sort of...
