Red silk at both end yes It narrows the roundwound choice to rotosound. But, I saw that when you buy a Yamaha, it usually comes with red silk strings ... Yamaha doesn't sell bass strings

Again, the mysterious red silk strings ...

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I can't find an answer ... His tone is awesome, lot of growl, but on the low end The silks looks red to me, and I think it might be flatwounds Any ideas ? The first two video are for the bass tone The second one to see a closeup of the strings
