    Sorry it took me so long to reply. I finished the two year course. It’s a lot of material to digest. I refer back to it frequently. I’m not sure what you mean by methods . It’s a solid approach to music education applied to bass. I don’t really know how else to describe it.

    Joe Hubbard Bass Joe is a great teacher and has played with an amazing list of musicians. The courses can be really challenging but the overall progress I made through his two-year bass mastery course blew my mind.

    What audio interface are you using?

    I have been using an RME UCX for years and it has performed flawlessly. Not resource heavy and the monitoring/ digital mix software embedded in the system is super powerful. Drivers are rock solid on iOS, windows and even Linux.

    I use Polynome and Time Guru. Time guru is not free but worth it. Also practice a lot with DrumGenius. Small money for a lot of utility.

    +1 for Joe Hubbard. He is the real deal. Like anything worth doing you need to commit to get the most out of it but the benefits are incredible.

    Windows working ok for those who use it for recording ?

    I use windows 10 running Reaper with an RME Fireface UCX interface with zero issues recording up to 12 tracks at a time.

    For online instruction you should check out Joe Hubbards site before committing to SBL or the others. Joe is organized, thorough and DEEP. His intermediate course filled in a lot of holes in my knowledge I didn’t even know were there.

    Fearful 12/6/1-standard or cube, opinions?

    I have a standard 12/6 and love it. The cube looks good if you are going to stack on top of a 15/6 but otherwise I think the taller form of the 12/6 has the advantage of getting the midrange speaker up higher and its easier to carry.

    Use a router and a template. Templates are easy to make if you have access to a 3D printer. Measure to figure out the depth.

    Being unhappy with every onboard preamp I have tried, I have decided to design and build my own. There is a lot of math I need to get back up to speed on, though. I haven't had to play 'real' engineer for a few years.

    My initial try was with a smaller rest made similar to the top part of a soap bar shape.

    This IS a stick on thumbrest. It just looks like a pickup.
