NBD Eko PJ-400 + new pedal

Got this bass for its light weight, pickups sound fine but the pots or wiring is horrible (I'm no luthier) it's basically one or the other or both but with reduced bass 😂 still I got it for the p pickup the j pickup didn't cost extra. Maybe have it's pots or wiring done in the future because...

    New Harley Benton aged/relic'd series

Putting relic aside it looks like a solid deal. But at that price point I would rather have a Eko pb-400 or tbh a Eko pj-400 and if you are into relics there's the Eko VPJ-280V that has a 3tsb and fiesta red reliced option. Though the vpj comes with a I believe composite fretboard? If youre...

    Using a pick...

There's even picks that help emulate finger playing. Like the Ibanez elastomer 2.2mm soft picks. It's not 100% the same but in a mix it works just fine seeing not even everyone using fingers sounds the same. Ofc how you angle and strike the strings make a massive difference. There's good...

How many of your basses are 100% ready-to-go? None of mine ever are :-P

All 5 of mine are always 100% ready. I don't use trusrod covers etc so that when the moment comes it can be adjusted right as I grab it for use. And I keep a basket of fresh strings that each bass needs and go out for new ones when I have only 2 spare sets left of whichever type. At which...

    bass names

Not really I geuss? I refer to them by where they came from or model+color because my ex had 0 knowledge and it made it easyer for him to understand. The habit stuck eventhough he didn't 🤣 I had a Gibson 2014 EB for example that was reffered to as "kitchen bass" because I sniped it on reverb...

    New Cab day.

Tbh it's the lightest I've used, besides my pjb C2. I used to have a Marshall MB450 combo on wheels though but the platform added weight. Thank God I never had to lift it myself though, this one I can handle 🤣

    New Cab day.

I haven't tried the 1x12 personally but the 1x15 is 22kg I believe and it really is just like playing through an Amp tbh. And you can still use it as a passive cab at 250w 4ohm.👍 Edit : I do think it would get more traction with a controllable tweeter.

    New Cab day.

This one's a doozy. I had been looking for a 1x15 cab, and just before I was going to pull the trigger on a Warwick gnome 1x15 4ohm (forgot it's exact name) I stumbled on this one. The "Blackstar Unity Pro Bass 250ACT 250W 1x15" active bass cab. Now I had previously looked into hooking up my...

    NBD Warwick & Ibanez

Got two new basses, a Warwick rockbass streamer standard and a Ibanez SR300EDX-BZM (catchy). I had gotten the Ibanez a little earlyer which promptly led to the sale of my old Gibson EB2014 seeing it had straight up replaced it. Love them the Ibanez is the most diverse bass I have ever held...

What Bass Was The Biggest Disappointment For You?

American pro ii jazz bass, had to order it sight unseen because no local dealer had that tier. Misaligned bridge and misaligned bridge pickup, misaligned pickguard Wich left a gap between it and the control panel. Oh and the g screen was precticly hanging off the side of the fretboard. Fender...

    New bass player

You can try looking up "the ultimate bass scales book" and "the ultimate bass chords & arpeggios book" by Karl Golden. Also learning the fretboard is something I consider a must. Also Hal Leonard has some nice books with tablature on music. (ofcourse there's free alternatives seeing the...

Sire P5-4 vs Fender Player II Precision

Personally I'd go with the sire if youre swapping pickups anyway. Call me biased but I have more faith in sires build quality. And I prefer sires necks etc, I just loathe their pickups. At the end of the day as always see if you can try before you buy. Because a good fender is great, but...
