Man, they pop up for around $550 (one used at Sam Ash for $500), but I can't justify spending that kind of cash when I've already bought so much over the last 12 months. I'll have one some day.I had one of those, too! You could have bought it from me for a very reasonable price a couple years ago (much less than you're thinking).

Hi,
I just made an account but I know of a website selling the Fieldy Signature K5 I can PM you if you want the info
My white whale bass is a left handed Olympic White 60's Fender Mustang with a tort guard...they are so rare! I've seen one once and it went before I had time to get money together. I've also wanted a 1971/2 Fender Musicmaster in Olympic White with black or white pick guard. I can only dream.....So me and one of my workmates, who are both bassists, got into a conversation over friday drinks about our dream, unattainable, white whale basses.
His was a old Rickenbacker in a particular finish, mine, a 32" purpleheart body custom warwick thumb (when I joined, I saw the thread where it sold on here a few years ago, there's been no trace of it since)
My guitarist also recently just found the guitar he's wanted since he was 15 for sale after all these years, in our city too, quite a rare ocurrence.
So it got me wondering what everyone elses white whale bass/instrument/bit of gear is?
Strangely enough, I'd really like to have my Washburn B20 back, if only for sentimental reasons. View attachment 800855
I idolize a guy named Brian Cook (he played in botch and these arms are snakes, currently in Russian circles) and he's used one on most of those recordings. I really want one to detune to D standard and throw around for the heavier music I play. They just have the Tone I'm after.I had one of those I bought new in the mid '70s!
