I haven't tried it yet myself but products like Goof Off might work... Those are basically acetone, and maybe a mixture of naptha too... could damage the plastic if u let it sit on there too long tho.

Ok, how's this? I just did it now, and used fingernail polish remover. Rubbing did little, so I soaked a bit of cloth on my thumb, and held it on the emg for a while. 3 times with a little fingernail scraping, and it looks like this (before and after). I don't like it ;-) I might try a little 2000grit sandpaper, or maybe I'll just do it a couple more times first. But it does kind of work.

Usually, for me anyway, any printing on a pu gets worn off from playing.
That is the main reason I haven't put mine into my Precision yet. I hope you get a good answer. I despise the logo, but certainly not EMG!
And despise is probably just a little harsh and a bad choice of words. I don't like the logo on the pickup.

In reality, the only one who will see it is you, from 5 or 10 feet away, no on else can.
It's just so temping to try and remove that gold finish from an otherwise vintage looking & great sounding pickup lol.

Me personally I love my Geezer pup and the logo. When it wears off over time so be it. I'm to busy enjoying the characteristics of that low mid bump, especially with rounds. To each there own. Maybe try some acetone?
I have no experience with a pre-CBS fender pickup, so can't comment on that. I did have a SPB-1 pickup in my partsbass very briefly, then changed to an EMG P, and later changed to a GZR. To me the SPB-1 sounds more "woody" more vintage perhaps. It did not have the mids that the GZR has. I like the GZR better, altough I would also be totally happy with a SPB-1. But I think the SPB-1 needs a better sounding instrument. It has a little less character, and the GZR just sounded great in every bass I've put it in.
Your observation about clear mids is very apt - GZRs are exceptional IMO for their ability to deliver open E with the same clarity as higher open strings with no sacrifice of body.
I've removed the logos from mine using nail polish remover and a q-tip. Won't stand for it.
Just wondering if any GZR users are running flat wound strings exclusively? Do GZRs play well with flats?
I'm running La Bella 760FL flats on my Geezer bass and they sound great. I get a big woody thump with a little bit of growl and sizzle on top.
Thanks to you and Thuddy Waters. I use TI flats on my Precision and my Yamaha P. I never use anything but flatwounds and those are two of the best kinds right there.
