1983 Quest Mini Bass made in Japan by Matsumoku. It's only 25 inch scale so it doesn't take up much space.
But don't be fooled because it's certainly no toy.
Frets are normal size as are the tuners, bridge, pickup and knobs so other than the small scale the bass feels like a normal bass.
And the pickups are hot!
I don't think it's been played much over the last 4 decades because the finish is beautiful. I haven't seen many of these kicking around especially in such nice shape.
It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea but is great for kids or guitarists who want something that feels like a regular guitar or anyone who doesn't have much space to pack a full size bass into their kit bag. Or for any collector looking for that bit of an oddball bass that fits nicely into the MIJ collection.
It's not going to replace your P-bass but it's a nice conversation starter.
