An enjoyable Mike Masse show last evening, all Beatles.
Interesting animation. Looks like a right handed Hofner depicted here, like Paul says he originally bought. But I don't recall ever seeing him photographed with one. Am I wrong?

SO listening to music on random I hear Cry for a Shadow--by the Beatles way back when (before they worked with George Martin) and the only Lennon/Harrison composition I know of.
That was followed-at random-by Pete's Theme by the Pete Best Combo--so two instrumentals with Pete Best.
Even better that was followed up by the Beatnix.

On April 24, 1976, Saturday Night Live Executive Producer Lorne Michaels did a live piece offering The Beatles $3,000.00 to reunite on the show. The piece was mocking the full-page ads taken out in the New York Times offering the Beatles millions of dollars to reunite and play in Shea Stadium.
As it turns out, Paul and Linda McCartney were with John Lennon and Yoko Ono at Lennon's home in the Dakota Building in New York City watching the show.
Lennon and McCartney thought about taking a cab to the studio, but decided they were too tired.
It was the last time John Lennon and Paul McCartney ever saw each other, face to face.

Very nice selections, zon! I've always liked the very '60s sounding "Cry for a Shadow". I didn't know that it was credited to Harrison/Lennon.
Here's another of The Beatles' few instrumentals, and even fewer credited to all four as songwriters! "Flying" has always struck me as quite soothing and restfull since I first heard it. But, I just recently came across this extended version which, so far, makes me appreciate the editing down to the originally released length. (Too bad that editing process couldn't have been applied to Revolution 9.

According to Wikipedia, that is the original Beatles foursome of John, Paul, George & Pete, during the sessions for the single(s) & EP(s) of "Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers", which was later repackaged and released as "THE BEATLES with Tony Sheridan", even though Tony sings all the lead parts. Ah, how things can change. Well, it's mostly covers of older songs anyway, so ... That was my first big disappointment in following The Beatles. But, maybe my copy is now worth something?

I really like the first 2 minutes and 16-ish seconds from my original '60s vinyl. So far, I find that extended version to be much too long. After the beat stops I'm not so into the continued free form "aerial tour", or whatever, part. I have been accused of being stuck in the '60s.
