Well, they did try that on a couple of occasions and (EB-0L, EB-3L, EB-4L and SG-Z) and these ended up not being well-loved by vast majority of players, freaks like myself excluded...
People complain about neck dive on SS EB/SG basses, and the problem becomes quite pronounced once you go long-scale...
I have a Unicorn , but prefer the pegs at the end of the neck.

I upscaled the body of my 1960 EB0 by about 15% for this 32" 12er. (The '60 EB0 fits perfectly in an 'SG' case). The 1-1/4" thick Honduras Mahogany body balances the twin trussrod neck, big headstock and tuners reasonably well, even though the neck meets the body at the 20th fret and the strap button is on the heel.

That 12 string is a real beauty! I saw (Cheap Trick) Tom Petersson’s 12 string bass at the Rock n Roll HOF and yours blows his away.
It was not his Hamer it was a custom he designed and Gretsch makes for $12,999.00!
I play an 8 string and I can only use it for a couple of tunes due to lack of daily playing.

Great book. One of my basses(OK, one like it)is on page 105, left.
I just bought the book too and it is a great resource for EB owners. However mine is already falling apart? I was letting a friend flip through it and pages just started coming loose from the binding. Anyone else have this issue? Should I contact the author/seller? Dang nice book but poorly assembled. Not real cheap $$$ for a soft cover! What would you all do?
