I am wondering if there are any other basses which get a similar sound to the jackenbacker? Maybe have similar pickup placement.

Other basses that sound like the Jackenbacker?

Yeah those bridges are deceiving because the base plate reaches up so far. Going from the saddles, that J pickup is maybe even closer to the Fender P pickup position
Its probably my cheapest but favorite sounding bass. Just hate the extra frets, really make slapping a pain.
Maybe the Greco PB-750 'Tetsu Yamauchi Model'?

Interesting the 5 string is reverse P, 4 string normal P. I just did not notice this.
I have a white 5 string Jackson. I bought it because I needed a 5 string and got a great deal on it. I would have preferred a different color, but the white one is not offensive in RL. I'm still figuring the bass out, but it's a good sounding bass that plays very well. I like it even more after watching the comparison video. I don't feel the need to run out to buy a Ric now.
I got the white too. Originally wanted the red burst, but after seeing it in the store the finished look really cheap in person. Feel the white and black are the best looking of the 5ers.
I played one. No magic here, it just sounds like a garden variety P, except more expensive than the other P clones, because it looks sorta like a Ric. Meh.
On the cheaper side active pjs with a 3 band. Pickup placement is also different (covered in the video above). Doesn’t sound the same, own both it and another pj. Pickup placement isn’t tonewood, it does effect the sound

I've played several, absolutely nothing special about them. In fact, they sound just like the $200 Jackson JS Spectra bass.
Hats off to the Jackson design team, though. They throw on a Ric-type pickguard, bridge and some fretboard inlays and charge $750 for something that doesn't even look like a Ric and sell quite a few.
Sorry, but even at the occasional $599.99 that pops up from time to time, I just don't think it's a good deal compared to similarly priced basses.

A common misconception, yes, but it definitely helped sell quite a few basses for Jackson.
I don’t think they were trying to look anything like a Ric besides the pickguard, though. To me, it’s the same as what the ESP Viper is to the SG. Vaguely reminiscent, but by no means a copy. If you want an SG, it doesn’t cut it. If you just want something SG-ish, it’s there for you. Same here; it’s for folks who want something Ric-ish.
I like these basses. They definitely have their own voice compared to a standard position PJ. Good feature set for the price too. I own the 5 string Spectra which is basically the same bass with a different electronics setup.
Neck Through, 24 fret, graphite reinforcement, compound radius. All for less than the price of a player series Fender?
If you don't care about that, that's cool, but I think you're getting more for your money without question.
Anywayyyy, I believe the Orange O bass has the P pickup shifted up 1/2" which would definitely make it closer to the Jackson. Less frets, but probably has its own ergonomic issues for most. No J pickup, obviously.
You could always take some measurements and have warmoth make a body with pickups in the same spots. I did that for a Ric-Jag hybrid with great results.

Maybe, but far more people call them Jacksonbacker than X Series Concert bass, that's for sure.
Only because it's more fun to say Jacksonbacker.
