In my experience that's not such a bad thing. More often than not the bass tone a producer has in his head is a P-bass. Why not have the instrument that can do what's popular and do it very well? Just my two cents.

I also own a Classic and a V4b. The SVT has stayed at home for the last year because I haven't found a single thing that I dislike about the V4b. You'll love it! I've played several outdoor, festival-style gigs and it hasn't failed me yet. Granted, we use in-ear monitors too. Best of luck!
