The problem is that you're the only person who knows the bass was stolen. The pawn shop doesn't and neither do the Oklahoma cops. As unfair as it is to you, that's the issue.
Do you have a copy of a police report you filed when the bass was stolen from you, with pix and serial number? That would at least establish your loss.
The pawn shop and police both know it was stolen. The bass is on hold by the police at the pawn shop. The police were notified a month ago when it turned up. I have talked to the police, courts, detectives and the pawn shop themselves. They won't do anything because they can't charge anyone, since the guy who pawned it is clean and not the thief. It has changed hands several times before it was pawned. I need a court order saying it's mine but the court won't issue one without charging someone, which they can't do.
