The Valenti Megathread Part IV

@Nino Valenti what are you working on these days?

Saw a couple pictures of the new body but not a finished product. Any other cool things going on?:)
I have a 2 customer basses that should be completed in a couple of weeks.

I also have a"Model T" style VTP4 that I will be building for myself for my STP tribute band.

There are also a couple customer basses in early production

That sounds cool. I have always been a huge STP fan and still gig a few of their tunes regularly.

Never did the STP tribute band thing though. Don't forget your cop sunglasses and dress pants/shirt!
:)

Here's a video of out 1st show, that was not too long ago. I'm playing a Schecter Model T. Thing weighs a ton!!! LOL

I still love this thing.

Sounds excellent!

Out of curiosity, why did you go with chambered swamp ash? I ask as my Valenti 5er has a non-chambered body and is just over 7lbs.

Mainly to ensure an overall very light bass. From what I had found, most solid bodies were more in the 8-8.5 pound range and I wanted to land somewhere between 7-7.5. I doubt that I'll be able to discern any sonic differences should they exist. I've read plenty of threads on here and elsewhere debating solid vs. chambered and just don't think the difference can be very drastic once amplified and in a mix. Could be wrong, but I know it'll be light and play fantastic :bassist:

My first 4 string I ordered from Nino is ash/maple. It's a full size, non chambered ash body and it weighs 7.3lbs. When I ordered my 5 with a wenge neck, I specifically asked Nino to build it out of Northern Ash because it's usually heavier as I didn't want the bass to be neck heavy. It weighs about 7.9 lbs.

New Country project? That bass?
Why, sir, that's not a Precision.
They'll fire you. :D

Ha! :D
Nope! MY band.;) If I feel like playing a pointy BC Rich, a Kala U bass or hollow body Hofner, I damned will!:wacky:

I actually really like the sound of the Valenti for the country stuff I am playing so far. Zac Brown, Jason Aldean, Big and Rich, etc. I was going to use a 74 P and a 72 Jazz, but didn't like how they sounded as much. The Valenti sounds way better than my Fenders IMO. Cuts incredibly well for this music.

Hey, if Tully Kennedy can play a Jazz on steroids, who am I to argue?:bassist:
