Who has changed the pickguard of an Heritage Tobacco Caprice and/or Cutlass? and to which color? I've had the original PG and a black one, but thinking of aged white pearl. Who of you has done this before and has pictures of it?

Same here. I like the woods en looks of the 1005MS and the sound of the Nordstrands.

I use the D800 and a SW 112 for the smaller semi-acoustic gigs. So 800 watts is way too much But the sound is just it and you can slip it into your bass gigbag when you play a venue with rented gear and have your own tone (more or less)

The subway 112 does move air and has oomph. Used it with two loud guitars and drummer. The reaction I got was to sell my Carbine M6 and PH410. I'll bring that set for the next rehearsal and they will never say that again. And having an Fulltone Bassdrive engaged between bass and D800 certainly...

Yes that's correct. But the amp will work fine with cab(s) with a total 4ohm impedance with the switch set to 2 ohm. You can do this with every load as long it is more then the minimum 2 (or 4 ohm depending on your selection) So with cabs of 8 ohm, no problem but the amp will deliver less...

And as was mentioned before, you can use the amp set at 2 ohm. The D800 then delivers about 625 watt @ 4 ohm.

Yes, it's makes a really handy DI with the sound you want to have on recordings. Used it this way two weeks ago. And also did a few tracks where I used a mic in front of the Subway 112 to blend the both signals. Sounded great!

Yep! That's the reason why I use the Carbine M6 and PH410 for really loud situations. And it's 200 watts less then the D800..... Imho that's the difference between class-D and mosfet power. So more speakers will do the job instead of more watts. :thumbsup:

No not a fight. Used the two sets in different occasions. Did A/B them before on the PH410. I tested the D800 on the 410 and did a great job but it didn't delivered the same punch, lows etc as to what the M6 does. Imho the M6 fits the voicing of the PH410 very well en better then the D800 does...

Alright, had a few weeks testing my Carbine M6 + PH410 and D800 with the Subway 112. I still prefer the tubey sound and HUGE power on tap over the D800. But I now understand what you people mean by 'the constant work' on the eq of the M6. The D800 is easier to dial in a good tone. Had good fun...

Well, I took the M6 to a rehearsel of my FOO tribute band and it was just WOW! But as this is a D800 topic which I tested as well I'll have just one request for future Mesa updates. I really like the EQ-section of the D800. So the voicing and low/high mid. To me Mesa would really hit the jackpot...

And I would say no having the M6 and a PH410 and a subway d800 and subway 112. But the M6 is no BB750 or titan.

I now own both...the answer is NO! if you compare them side by side they're different kind of animals

Well, because of all the raving stories about the D800 and people selling the Carbines, BB750 and Titans for it my expectations were pretty high. And I had a Titan before. Soudwise you can hear the Mesa tone in both amps.The EQ is a bit more extreme on the M6. As it comes to power en headroom...

Update: Today I bought the D800 and a Subway112 for the small-ish gigs but... I also bought the PH410 and a Carbine M6 for the big(ger) gigs. Why: I tried the D800 on the PH410 but I found the M6 way above the D800. Can give ya'll hundreds of reasons why the M6 did a better job then the D800 on...

Thank you. I think I'll be standing elsewhere on stage on that particular occasion the cabinet needs to deliver the full 600 watts. Which probably will never happen ;)

I'm thinking of putting the D800 on a PH410 4ohm version. Is that safe without destroying the speakers? I also was told by the distributer that the Mesa speakers can handle a bit more then specified. Is that true?

Next week I'm gonna try on the M6 and the D800 on a PowerHouse 410 for big(ger) gigs and on a subway 12" for the small-ish gigs. I wonder which amp wins. The big difference: the M6 is €1k more expensive. Yes! That's right! That is thousand euros more than the Subway D800! (in Europe). In...

I read al lot about the D800 and the new Subway cabs. I'm curious if the D800 still sounds great with the standard powerhouse cabs like the 410 and 210 in comparison to the Subway cabs.

I've ordered an M6 and a Standard Powerhouse 410 last year before the Subway was going on the market. The M6 and PH410 is about to get delivered at the store but I am really (really!!):nailbiting: having second thoughts. The D800 is half the price of the M6 and what i'm reading is that it does...

I've ordered a new M6 and powerhouse 4x10 4 ohm for fully use of the 600 watt M6 power. I also want a 2x10 on top of the set in some occasions. Does the Carbine go well with the 4 ohm 410 and a 8 ohm 210? If not, is the powerhouse 410 loud enough at 8 ohm getting 320 watt from the M6?

I know it's an old thread but... what kind of stuff did you use for as a sealing. Do you put this on after the 'grain-popping' treatment en before de coloured or clear finish? I'm having ideas about sanding the old colour off my TRB5 and clearcoat the bass. But that white see-through :cool:
