CITES - What every bass player should know

Lol it just hasn’t happened yet, holding it doesn’t count. Cites is not going to start seizing instruments. “What will be their answer to what is done it’s the instruments”? Because I guarantee you if they took my bass their would be action taken idk about you. Now if every instrument turned...

CITES - What every bass player should know

They don’t have a general aspiration but they do have specific goals they are open about. Like not destroying endangered wood. I am not trolling but just have a simple understanding that the seizing of instruments at any capacity is going to be tolerated it makes literally no sense for them to...

CITES - What every bass player should know

I’m just trying to shed some comfort to the people who are now aware of the law and are still scared that they will ignore this fact travel with their guitar and have it seized and destroyed by the people tryin to protect it.

CITES - What every bass player should know

I’m still not clear on the one example you have, so the company Gibson documented that an individual traveling imported an instrument. I’m just trying to stay informed, when an instrument gets seized where does it go?

CITES - What every bass player should know

Being a member of talkbass is the measure of my credibility lmao. I guess the easily obtained permits to travel or sell internationally with said endangered wood should be speculated about the hypothetical situation of all of these informed international musicians having their guitars seized by...

CITES - What every bass player should know

Oh I’ll purchase the easily obtained permit but im just not sure if we should be worried about the organization set in place to protect the endangered wood to be organizing any kind of law that involves them locating endangered wood, seizing it, than destroying it.

CITES - What every bass player should know

Lol Ive found 1 guy who had some flutes seized and I don’t need to do google search to know that if you are flying internationally you might have the amount of money to be able to easily transport your instrument if need be. (The amount is significantly less lol) The execution by these...

CITES - What every bass player should know

Ya so I assumed correctly that this wasn’t the forum all major vendors discussed the law. I’m glad we are notifying the mass musician public but no instruments are going to be seized...just think about what they would do with the guitar after they seized it? Go put it with the other wood? Lmao...

Ampeg combo not producing full stingray bass tone.

You probably need a preamp or bass boost pedal if you haven’t tried running your bass eq around 40 mid at 75 high at 60. That 15 doesn’t have much definition so roll any tone knob up and know a 5 percent eq change can do a lot...you might fix it all just by playing closer to the bridge... :)

CITES - What every bass player should know

Ya I went back and read it and did some research...you have to pay a one time fee of 200 dollars to export your endangered wood. Like I originally said there is no guitars being seized to add to the international collection lol. They are just making you pay to travel with them

CITES - What every bass player should know

Ya I can’t find any cases of instruments being seized... can you really imagine a well versed endangered wood authority telling you that he will have to take your guitar because of its wood. We are going to take it and put it next to some other endangered rosewood so we can have more...again...

    Before and After

This is 1 days worth of work and IMO I am someone who has a nose for new and vintage taste regarding color combinations, sheens, and playability. I can’t hardly find anybody that speaks well of the jet king but after one day, I have a one of a kind striking bass that (I’m not kidding) plays...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Just finished my Ibanez Jet Bass. It was only released with a sunburst finish, I’ve put my funk cosmetics on it. It plays every bit as well as my American standard J bass, which I also painted
