Ric'O Sound for a jazz bass

A switch could be one way, but here's a schematic for ric wiring if it helps to see how they split the stereo pickup. Can't wait to see the results

    Boss OC2 Circuit

My OC-2 uses ACA power supply instead of 9Vmodern PSA. It will still work with 9V, but if you daisy chain it with another analog pedal, pull see the led actually brighten up. If you could get a variable power supply, 12V would be awesome

    Tired of Y-Cables, DIY Ric-O-Sound

But then I would need a jump wire or something if I ever wanted to use the bass as a mono. I used a Ric schematic, complete with that specific switching mono jack. It keeps the circuit closed in mono jack when youre using the stereo out, but perfect when you want to use it with a single amp...

    Tired of Y-Cables, DIY Ric-O-Sound

I hope I can explain it. It sounds more complicated than it is, but it's all a seamless ecosystem. This way I can use any guitar or bass into a combo of Ampeg, Marshall, Mesa Boogie or Orange preamps by choosing a specific coiled cables on their own or into the coffin. Neck MXR cable leads to...

    Tired of Y-Cables, DIY Ric-O-Sound

I have a modded Jackenbacker that I worked like a Ric. For the last bit, I've been using a Y cable for the stereo split, but it meant I could only ever use my "tip" Ampeg; because my Superbass was on the ring channel. I decided to make my own Ric o Sound box using some on hand parts and a...

Im sorry, I never said thank you to this! I really want to swap this bridge soon. The stock one feels fiddy. I'm glad there's no redrilling

NBD! Schecter Limited-Edition Stiletto Studio-5 Transparent Purple Burst

Hey I know it's been a couple years, do you remember the model of the bridge for your 5 stiletto? And if you had to do any plugging and redrilling? Thanks!

    Drum machine for idiots

I bought the sDrum too! I had trouble creating beats using the strum pattern way. I wound up just using the 2 pads on the unit for kick and snare, and those have turned out better! I made this last week using the SDrum and tapping. It's a link to a google drive audio file I record using an...

    The Jackenbacker MKII

I would love to see the twin for this, Orange is also a favorite color for me. I actually still have the white emg PJ set with all parts for Rick layout if you're looking to upgrade. I wanted passive because I use this with a Nux portable amp, and to use the wireless transmitter the stereo...

    The Jackenbacker MKII

A couple years ago I originally got the Jackson Concert bass, and swapped to EMGs and a Ric style control layout. It was cool, but still lacking. First Post 2 yrs Ago I decided to take it a step further. I wanted to switch to passive pickups. I got a PJ Relentless set, and decided to create...

What to do with Battery Slot? (Going from Active to Passive)

This is probably my favorite idea yet, I actually got some creepy little things I can drop in. Maybe after the strike clears!

What to do with Battery Slot? (Going from Active to Passive)

After 2 years, I'm taking EMGs out of my Jackson, I'm replacing them with DiMarzios, but what do I do with my empty battery slot? I'm still gonna do 4 pots and switch like a Ric. I thought of using it to run a stereo jack? Maybe a comp or boost circuit I can put under the pickguard. Any ideas?

    What Rickenbacker would you do?

I low-key love the chips, well used? Or you won't have to feel bad about scratching it! I've never seen a blue Ric. I'd say get the blue since it's so uncommon, and it's not like a bad "relic job" I also don't like blue, but it's 40% of the worlds favorite color! It's someone's grail ,I'm sure

    One thing leads to another…

My first bass was white pearl rouge 5 string, as a goth kid I always liked the contrast of white against the all black. My car right now is white pearl. Something about it is just perfect. My dream bass is a white p bass with black pickguard like Dee Dee Ramone, but my actual favorite color...

    NBD Jackson Concert Bass (Jackenbacher)

I just wish I could remove the chrome pickup cover, but they screwed it in so deep it left a dent in finish. Except for a noisy J bridge pickup it's definitely great, all it needed was a drop in saddle height. The pointy headstock adds some length, so be careful when you swing around; you might...

    NBD Jackson Concert Bass (Jackenbacher)

That's a Ric bridge for sure! I really dig the look of the mismatched pickups, and 2 switches. Man I really want to start messing around with a new wiring scheme now! Maybe I'll look into some stereo schematics. Thanks, who else got some Ric inspired guitars?

    NBD Jackson Concert Bass (Jackenbacher)

It's definitely a J underneath, I really don't like it too much its quieter and gives off a bad buzz. It's cool because the bass has a blend, but I find myself just always using the P pup, maybe I need to raise it up? I was thinking about upgrading the pickups to a relentless Neck and Super...

    NBD Jackson Concert Bass (Jackenbacher)

Once I saw that bridge and control scheme I was sure it was Ric inspired! I wonder if we can just turn this to a place to see some wonder Ric inspired basses! Anyone else got a bass with an homage to the 4001/4003?

    NBD Jackson Concert Bass (Jackenbacher)

Thank you for that new word, I love the way "Bloopy" fits! It's got a 34" scale, but 24 frets rather than the 20? Normally on Rics? I think but once I dropped the action it was perfect. I heard people put flatwounds on Ric's, but I like that treble clang you get from picks too. Coated strings...

    NBD Jackson Concert Bass (Jackenbacher)

Hey y'all, I recently bought a vintage bass, but after looking at the condition of the frets and thinking about the actual practicality, I unfortunately had to return it. Instead I got a beautiful Absynthe Frost Jackson Concert Bass. It's basically half of a PJ bass mixed with a Ric. I've...

NBD 1979 Kramer DBZ 4001 (I play METAL, actually Aluminum!)

I'm curious about the 2 stamped into the headstock. I have no idea about the resale value with b-stocks. I have a schecter 7 string that I also picked up for under 1000 because it was a factory second. To me it doesn't matter, but idk how it'll affect resale. It's the only way I've been able...

That sounds beautiful, I never wanted to deal with vintage gear after trying for so long to get a Univox Superfuzz. But this was opportunity, I'll look into some old funky basses too, I like the hippy sandwich look. Yeah that's good to know that it's pretty original. I see that the badass bridge...

NBD 1979 Kramer DBZ 4001 (I play METAL, actually Aluminum!)

It seems that all basses are justade to be heavy as hell. My 5string ltd weighs so much, but all the weight is on the body. This Kramer has all it's weight in the neck!

NBD 1979 Kramer DBZ 4001 (I play METAL, actually Aluminum!)

Yeah, I saw somewhere that Kramer wanted to bridge the familiarity of the wood on the back of the neck because people said the TB's felt cold. The fact that there is no crackle or static in the Pups or pots makes me think I should keep em stock, Not bad for under $1k USD

NBD 1979 Kramer DBZ 4001 (I play METAL, actually Aluminum!)

I picked it up, had no idea what brand it was but I loved how smooth the action was. The scale feels better than my 5string ltd, and that 0 fret makes such a nice sound. I was surprised by the fingerboard, the salesman kept saying it was ebony, I told him I don't see the grain of ebony just...

Went into Guitar Center with an email for 15% off. There's a lot of things in Union Sq Store. I tried a Seafoam Acoustasonic Tele, but was on trade hold until 11/24. As checked the bass section I saw this crazy aluminum headstock. Grabbed the bass, plugged it in and fell in love. I thought...

    NFBD!: Black or Tort?

Keep the black, I think that 2 ply pickguard with the white outline looks better against the black than the tortoise. If the finish was a flat stain I'd say Tort. But it may look a little busy, or you'll obsess over trying to find a matching the colors in your pickguard to bring out colors in...
