I’ve always loved the looks of all white basses. Not Olympic white, which is nice , but that bright whiter than white shade.
I also happen to love StingRay5’s,
and a sparkle finish is just icing on the cake.


I’ve often considered purchasing one of these models but always knew deep down that they weren’t quite right for me. I find them to be some of the most eye catching basses I’ve ever seen.

With Ernie Ball releasing their Fall 2022 BFR models . I took a chance that this would be that perfect white sparkle StingRay5 that I’ve always wanted. And I was right.

Has your loving the looks of other basses ever led you to purchase a bass that was cosmetically similar but a different company?

My first bass was white pearl rouge 5 string, as a goth kid I always liked the contrast of white against the all black. My car right now is white pearl. Something about it is just perfect.
My dream bass is a white p bass with black pickguard like Dee Dee Ramone, but my actual favorite color is green. Well I went to GC 3 weeks ago, for a new bass and only looked at basses that were White or Green.

I got this recently for a whole lot of reasons other than aesthetics but I wasn’t totally sure of the pick guard; it’s grown on me and I really love how it looks. Oh, and how it plays and sounds.

It is a custom made strap. I bought it after I ordered the bass. I thought it was a perfect match.

I almost forgot I have an '85 Fender Performer in Pearl White but it's yellowed a bit so it isn't really white anymore.

My second white bass. 1986 All original Kubicki X-Factor. My first was a pearl white/black hardware 1986ish Fender Jazz Bass Special. Sold it in 1988 and have regretted that move ever since.

Well, the Stingray is white - the Tony Franklin (fretted) and 32" Squire P are more yellow/cream'ish. No sparkle at all.

I'm not a huge fan of white colored basses overall but, there is ONE that I would love to have. I've kind of been obsessed with it ever since Sting used a white Spector NS-2 on the Synchonicity tour back in '83-'84. Spector doesn't exactly make the same spec'd model of that one anymore but the current Euro 4 Classic or even the 30th anniversary "Sting model" they made in 2013 would probably cure my obsession with it these days.
