I tend to dig in abit too much when I get excited on stage and as a result I can hear my bass clanking on the frets. Apart from learning self control what would be the better fix? Raise the action or loosen the truss rod a little for some more relief?

Was looking at this bass and found the E string a little off putting. Is this something that fender would have done or has this neck been replaced ? I can't see any other precision where the strings don't run pretty much parallel.

I recently got hold of a rosewood neck that has fret slots cut in it but has never had frets installed. I intend to use it as a fretless so was wondering what I would fill the slots with. Putty? Silicon? No more gap caulk? Titebond and dust? Would appreciate you guys input
