Ibanez BTB676 VS Fender Jazz Bass

I play the BTB. I like the wider neck and the vast array of sounds you can get out of this bass. The 676 is not a lower model BTW. The higher the number the higher the quality. I play a BTB 405 and I would never try to stack my Jazz bass up against it. As far as funk, that's what it was made...

Olah, I run an HA4000 or an HA3000(depending on the gig) through a VX210 cab. Sign me up for the club, if you'd be so kind.

    week old member

Hello, I joined the group last week. I was researching for an answer on line and the search led me here, I have been amply educated by the musicians here. There is a lot of wisdom to be found among some of the members here. For that I am grateful. I started a thread titled Country Bass Guitar...

    Going Ampless

Nah, Get a double hand gun case. Comes with separable foam padding. You can make the liner any way you like. Affix your gear to a platform that you like and then buy a case at Dcks or someplace lie that to put it in

    country bass question

I started playing 5 string because I had a 4 string and changed the strings( and tuning) and loved it. I love the playability of the 5 string. I have owned a dozen or so basses now and have learned through trial and error to like what I like. I admit, I almost never use the G string for...

    country bass question

I scrape and sand the finish off the the back of every neck. Then just keep it clean. Much better playing that way.

    country bass question

I play the 5 string because I like playing the key of E in fifth position on the B string. The closed E on the fifth string has better tone than the open E on the fourth IMO. Being able to add the Ab on the 4th string to an E chord run is a nice enhancement as well.

    country bass question

We opened for a big name act a few weeks ago. The bassist had two different basses on stage with him and both were 5 string. Pointed that out but it fell on deaf ears. I am frustrated because I loved playing with the band but the leader began seeing stars (prematurely at best) and became a d***...

My 36 year old hardshell left a gift for me

Try cross breeding a case with a sit and spin so it can rotate by itself. Then remember to gyrate when you're actually playing it.

    country bass question

Thanks Gents. I know a p bass is common, but for someone to say "all country players play 4 string P basses" hit me funny. I am 40 and have been playing for over three decades. I had never been confronted with anything like this before. It took me off guard. He told me if I wouldn't agree to...

My new Traben Havoc works great...As a radio

Right, Never leave the store with out fully checking the thing out. A bowed neck, they will usually tweak for you while you wait. Or go to some one and learn how to set it up your self. I make all of my own adjustments, you can too.The rest..., stripped machines and such, never had that one...

    country bass question

I have a question and would like input. I am a bassist. I play, for many reasons, five string. It is what I like and what I have grown acustomed to. Recently, I left a country band. The guy leading the band had no real idea how to arrange music but thought he did. He had three accomplished semi...

If you could be endorsed by any brand...

90's Peavey Dynabass. That was my fav of all my past basses. Would love another one. As for endorsements..., Any Ibanez BTB 5 string neckthru model. I love the hardware Ibanez added to those basses so there is no need to change anything. I have huge hands so the wider neck is a good fit...
