How do you clean the Jatoba/ Bubinga neck on an SR 700 once it gets all gummed-up with sweat? Also, are the strings that come on these basses Elixir strings? I like the string tension they have. I don't like the coating coming off. Has anyone ever tried the nickel Dunlop strings? If so, what do you think of them? Is there a nickel string that has a similar string tension to the Elixir? Thanks. Sorry for all the newbie questions. I've pretty much owned nothing but Fender jazz basses for the past 30 plus years. I feel so dirty. Alas, I also feel enlightened.

I guess I need a number.

Had this EDB555 for most of this year and it is now my main player. Did a complete fret level, Hipshot Ultralight tuners, Delano pickups and a Sadowsky pre-amp. Also sanded a bit of the neck off.

Swamp ash body, wenge/bubinga neck, rosewood fretboard.
