Hey Benny, that's a real ol' post you bumped. Sorry to say that I never got to link a Terror onto this Marshall cab: shortly ater that post I got rid of the Hartke amp and got me a real cheap Peavey mark III instead. That was a killer combination with the cab! Meanwhile I also got in a...

Essex Bass Club - Part 12

I gig with a J-bass, but it has been modded with minor things: I swapped the pots as the tone pot was scratchy In the meantime: Bridge changed, orange drop, string tree, that's it notice that no pickups are changed: I love the great sound of the stocks. I very recently gave it those...

Essex Bass Club - Part 12

let me rephrase this perhaps: the SX has a particular sound of its pickup (we know it sounds good!) but that SX sound if you may call it that way might not workout on some amp brands? Or is that not possible?

Essex Bass Club - Part 12

white P-bass always looks nice! I'm not a fan of gold hardware tho another thing for all J-bass SX'ers what amp are pairing well with the J's and which amps are to be avoided? or is there no such problem? My current amp is a peavey bass mark 3. A winner combination with the SJB-62

So my SJB-62 has 60's spacing I'm going to check the SJB-75 tonight when at home.

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

Thanks for this valuable info! 4" is 10.16 cm, I measured 9.6 cm (3.78")? is that 60 spacing or 2010's spaced out spacing?
  25. B

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

Another thing that I don't know anything about is the 70 pickup spacing on SX Jazzes, how different in measurement and sound is that to the standard fender pickup settings and why doesn't fender apply this on their products (or do they?)? I measure 3cm from saddle to bridge PU, 7,7Cm in...

I recall it was discussed before, but couldn't find it: have SX necks real block inlays and is the skunkline real or painted?

    Peavey Amps Club

Hi guys & Dolls need some advise: I get an awsome tone out of my peavey TKO75 with a JBass, but with a P bass config I do not seem to get that thumping P-sound at all, can someone help me in finding how to set tone on the EQ?
  36. B

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

Yeah I have been trying to figure that out, but SX parts seperately seem not being sold here in Europe. at least not that I have found as yet. Besides would the necks just fit to anybody (nice punn)? I once swapped the necks of a "Euro" SX and a "Rondo" SX and the necks did not fit smoothly...
  37. B

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

Not quite: Those I've seen around so far...but surely not all available anylonger. Picture 1 and 2 are taken from 2 SX's I have 3 is from Rondo's and 4 and 5 off of a spanish distributor.
  38. B

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

Bassbenj I am completely on the same level of thought with ya here! I wanted the bass I got via Rondo, even though I knew I could buy SX basses here in my own country (BUT NOT THE SAME MODEL!). I'd like to add to your thoughts that SX is a superb bass AS IS!!! without changes, ideal for those...
  39. B

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

Well I have had Rondo send an SX to me here in Europe, that was even more money spent, but I do not regret it any second! At the same time I got another SX over here that cost me half the price, but I really wanted the one available at Rondos back then!

Essex Bass Club - Part 11

I love these kind of situations. (Happened to me too) Do you have the stock pickups in your SX? Be careful, people might want to steal an SX as they'd take it for a very expensive bass. :p
