Thanks for all the comments. One of the main themes of the album is self-acceptance and honesty -so when the tech mentionned that we could paste together the best parts I wasn't quite sure if that's what I want to do... The songs being solo bass pieces is a new and major challenge for me...

I once cut my left hand index finger while chopping onions and put on 'Liquid Band-Aid' to get me through the gigs I had that week... It would last long enough for me to finish a set and put on another coat for the next one...

What helped me get my sixteenth notes more solid was practicing accent displacement with a metronome i.e. play constant 16th notes:1 bar accentuating the 1st 16th note, 1 bar accentuating the 2nd sixteenth note etc. To get a feel for it you can use ghost notes on the notes that you're not...

I think that if someone wants to play the bass with his nose - he could. IMHO, just have to decide to take the time to make it work... There's lots of good advice here. In the last few years I've been working on playing with my thumb as a pick as inspired by Victor Wooten. It's a different tone...

Improvising is a vast and wonderful world... I'd say recording as much as possible is the way to go if you want to be able to learn your 'happy accidents'.
