Check the battery box and see if it is direct wired to the PCB, or if there is a component soldered into place.

Since the saddles are so far out on the screws, I’d recommend using light duty loctite, and also use it on your height adjustment screws. The knockoff bridges are notoriously mis-machined and will vibrate their way loose, inadvertently lowering your action.

Ray35 is a far superior instrument. Not quite as attractive, but versatility is 100%

FYI regarding Ray24 & Ray25 They share the same power amp that is now being used in the SUB Series basses, not the Music Man designed electronics that Ray34CA & Ray35CA used in the past.

There is no such thing as a Ray34CA made in SLO. All Ray34CA were made in Indonesia.

Also, you’ll find that the electronics in Ray24/25 are the same as the new SUB Series Ray4/5 preamp. There is no more hot preamp issue with this design, which was closely based on the “Old Smoothie” preamp. It has a much mellower, “P/J” vibe to it rather than a classic StingRay growl.

No it wont. Because the Ray34, Ray35, Ray34CA, Ray35CA, and SUB Series Ray4 and Ray5 are based on the STINGRAY, you need a STINGRAY HSC, which is Music Man part number 4980.
