I just bought the TC BQ Thrust 250 which is really in the same family as the BAM and BH.
It is really working out well for me although I think 250 watts is a stretch. I use a D'addario clip on tuner and no effects so didn't want the BH
The BQ's 2 Mid Switches, hi and lo , are really a good...
I see the increased 399 price at Sweetwater and GC, but not Amazon or Reverb.
I was trying to wait so I can decide between the Mustang PJ and Squier Mustang .
I am a P-bass single pickup kind of guy, so the Squier is appealing that way if the hardware and neck finish are good enough.
Will the...
After breaking the the Precision Flats in all this month I put my old La Bella DTF's back on my P Bass and will stick with my old standby .
The Precision Flats are great.... but just not the match for me.
My American Standard P has a Bartolini Deep Tone pickup so this could be part of the...
The Guild B-240 has to be my favorite since it is the only one I have so far .
It seems to not be a good match for Chromes or LaBella Flats but Precision Flat Lights work well with it . I usually play medium gauge on my other Basses , not on this though
Tapewounds are a good suggestion to try
Chromes have a scooped mid sound which some might describe as hollow .
Their treble top end is too much for me soloed , but fits well when playing with other instruments.
The Chromes take a while to break in.
The gauge is just right since they are a...
The ART Tube Levelar as is an excellent affordable 2 knob compressor that is easy to understand and use .
I picked up another one this year at the online auction site for less than $40 new in the box.
They are discontinued but available used..
It is reviewed and recommended at the previously...
Just wondered if anyone has sanded their Guild B-240 bridge saddle down ?
I don't know about others , but mine had it's saddle sitting much too high.
I took one millimeter off the bottom of the bridge and it plays more easily, especially at the higher frets.
Used a fine tip technical marker and...
My ABG had a similar issue and I got a replacement tuner from Stewart-Macdonald.
They have a diagram showing correct size and style to match your tuner when ordering.
SSM , just wondered if you had any success taking your Guild bridge saddle out yet ?
I might take my saddle out and look at the underside . Maybe sand it a touch as string height is on the high side around 9 or 10 frets up.
I purchased my Guild a couple of months before you and notice the 4th...
Jimmy , before you bail on this , measure body to string bottom distance with an accurate short metal ruler.
Head to the fabric or hobby store and buy a piece of foam 1/2 inch thick ( or fatter if you want more foam string contact ) ; and mark the distance you measured on your instrument body/...
D'addario Chromes 45 -100 sound great on my Epiphone El Capitan ABG but I went back to my favorite string , the La Bella Deep Talking flats 43-104 which is the better match for both me and the instrument .
I tried the thick La Bella black tapewounds but they seemed just not quite focused...
Wilson Pickett's cover of "Sugar Sugar". ....nailed it !
Tony Jackson & The Vibrations cover of " You Beat Me To The Punch"
The Mama's and Papa's cover of " Dedicated to The One I Love "
Eddie Kirkland's cover of " When I First Started Hoboing '"
The Rolling Stones cover of " The Last Time "
Ibanez responded today , wow , that was quick .
"The Tone POT is listed as A500K, D16, Knurl Shaft, Long Thread
The Volume Pot is listed as B500K, D16, Knurl Shaft, Long Thread
I hope this helps

Interesting post , I just had to send back my new Artcore 200 for adjustment due to sympathetic vibrations amplified from the area of the neck pickup , esp. on the 2nd and 3rd string . Audible whether plugged in or not .
I checked every single thing ..... except pickup height . So , I'm glad...
I sent an e-mail to Ibanez yesterday and asked what are the values of the volume and tone pots on the current model 200's . Response is 7-10 days out according to their automated e-mail response.
Interesting thread , I'm looking to get a medium or short scale AEB and this is helpful reading.
The Spector Timbre Junior was pretty nice at Sweetwater when I played it there recently .
I just wondered if any AEB players use any interface between their instrument and amp/board ?
If I use my...
Thanks for this topic Pilgrim . Interesting read .
My 1998 Fender American Standard Precision is 9.02 pounds and my 1999 Epiphone El Capitan ABG is 7.02 pounds .
The Epi isn't sourced from China like current models.
The P bass is stock other than the pickup , a Bartolini deep tone model.
I have...
