Jimmy Vaughan, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s older brother,
George Thorogood, who we mostly know as the Bad To The Bone guy, but is an excellent blues guitar player in his own right.
And my hat goes off to Johnny Gayden who played bass for Albert Collins for many years. Every time I hear those records I think, oh right, that’s how it’s done.

Many folks have indeed mentioned artists that are well known in the field like J.Lee Hooker but not named people like Earl Hooker who certainly was a titan in the genre . I would add Ronnie Earl as being one of the underrated players still around and putting out serious work . He is at least as good or better than Joe Bonnamossa [ sic ] except with some humility added in .
It's hard to call Albert Collins unknown but he was certainly not as popular as he should have been . His live shows were right up there with R.L. Burnside's and Jr Kimbrough's for wonderful concerts that remain in one's memory decades later . .... Kelly

I love Magic Sam so much, but when it comes to underrated, you can't sleep on his protege Magic Slim, especially with the 80s-early 90s version of the Teardrops.

The most underrated of all time, although he'd be impossible to overrate, is Fred McDowell. For unspeakable beauty, he will always be the best.

I've always considered him to be one of the best, and one of the most overlooked.
Not a virtuoso or flashy, but the kind of guy who played what should be played and left out what should be left out.
Vocals, harp, guitar...he could hang with Son House, and JLH.
John Lee "Sonny Boy " Williamson is a great under rated blues singer who unfortunately died way too young
Mark has been playing the blues since before we met in the early 90's. He was in Dickey Betts band in the early 2000's.
