    Series-parallel or bridge kill switch?

I spent a couple hours with it yesterday and heres a few things I noticed: -With bridge 0/neck 100/tone 0, the tone does go ever slightly muddy when switched to series but otherwise i cant tell much of a difference. This is weird to me because the series switch cuts the bridge pot out and...

    Series-parallel or bridge kill switch?

Master series switch is installed, ill have to wait until tomorrow to crank up the amp but so far i like the sound, although at low volume both pickups in series sounds very similar to neck pu only. I did have trouble getting solder to stick to the copper foil, maybe its too thin to get hot...

40% higher price in 1 hour?

I though this was a "somebody bought my bass and sold it for more" post, thats a different kind of story though, and though the seller shouldnt care what happens after they sold it, i think in your situation you have a right to be irritated by that. That was a dirty way to try and make a buck...

    New bridge old dean

Wow I didnt think of that but it totally makes sense, it would convert the wood fibers around the screwhole into a sort of micarta-type material right? Great tip, thanks!

Really? I didnt know that, 800 is a bit big for my use... but its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it right? Y'all are a bad influence lol

P bass buzzing w/tone turned up

Ill add that the shielded pickup wire you would use does not need to be coaxially symmetrical. You only need coax for things like rf signal, and in those applications the impedence of the cable itself may be important for standing wave ratio, none of which would be applicable to guitar pickups...

    Fender Rumble Club

I just bought this two weeks ago, I love it! The vintage switch is awesome with my dean on the neck PU. Im already wanting to upgrade from the 40 to the 100. My bass has been in storage for a couple years, I pulled it out due to a new regular gig need (church music). Last time I played bass...

40% higher price in 1 hour?

Would you have been happy with making the sale if you never knew he re-sold it? If so, I'd move on... lifes to short to hang on missed opportunities and hindsight is a thing that only helps you in your next endeavor, not the last one. At least you made your sale. The lesson is free if you...

    Series-parallel or bridge kill switch?

Im reviving an old dean edge 1 passive HH (VVT) with stock pickups, and i want to install a push/pull switch for some tonal variation and flexibility. My first inclination after 2 days research is to install a master series/parallel setup just like they do on SS j basses. However i havent...

    New bridge old dean

Here is the bridge installed. I like brass so i went with brass screws to match the saddles... this should be fine right? Also, the G side screw went into the ground wire channel so i had to install a longer screw. It sounds the same to me but i kind of like the look.

    New bridge old dean

Had this bass for 19 years... well i did sell it once and traded back for it a year later... anyhow its been in storage for two years and the stock bridge was bent when i took it out. About 10 years ago or so the screws had started to pull up from the soft basswood and i replaced them with...

    Starting bass a 4th time

Thanks, noticing your user name id like to say that until last week ive only played blues on my mouth harps, but decided to start tinkering with some 12bar backing tracks on the bass and im loving it. First time playing bass blues but what a great way to refamiliarize the fretboard and i...

    Starting bass a 4th time

Hello everyone. Im starting to play bass for a 4th time, ive dabbled in a lot of other instruments but one thing is for sure, i dont like em with more than 4 strings (Even 5 string basses feel wrong to me). I have a korean dean edge i aquired in 2005 or so, thats played in garage jams, bars...
