    String Gauge for DGCF Tuning?

    Hi all, I want to tune a 4 string bass to Low D, and am thinking perhaps that a heavier gauge is a reasonable idea. Maybe the neighborhood of 110 for the low D... Thoughts and maybe some info on who produces a 4 string set would be enthusiastically pored over, thanks for your time.
