Hey, yeah I realized that somewhere in one of your posts in one of your threads you mentioned sandeeps full name. A quick search revealed he's from bangalore definitely far far away. But I do visit bangalore on rare occasions, so someday, I will check this bass out..!!

You have probably found Sandeep on the Facebook Über-basses page. He follows the build there, although I believe he has recently dropped by TB too

Yes, even though that shot technically isn't the best one because it doesn't show the grain, it is one of my favorite cuz it's funky

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you like the finish. There are much more skilled and talented builders here. I'm still learning and polishing my technique. One thing I have learned so far about finish is, it takes time, patience and an incredible level of commitment to quality. The sight of my mentor stripping many layers of lacquer off five of his guitars because it wasn't perfect it's a lasting inspiration.

But I digress

A few days ago I received about 5kg of hardware parts, including the knobs for this bass.

The tiny position dot reveals the brass underneath the black plating. I'd say, quite a bit better than those plastic knobs

Yes, they are. I have tried quite a few and I like these. They are a bit on the heavy side, being brass. But the feel is great and that is partially due to them being a bit heavier than aluminum knobs. Just nice. Unless a client has a specific request, I will use these as standard.

I order most of my hardware from ETS, so adding their knobs makes perfect sense. I have also tried having my own design machined and plated over here. But I am not happy with the result and the cost is way too high.
