Don't you hate when that happens? Last year I went into a local guitar store to get a XLR cable, came home with the cable and a 5 string bass.
Haha... actually I find it pretty exciting *facetiousness noted* ... do ya still have the cable?!?

Nice bass. Every Fender case I've seen fits both J's and Ps.
Make sure you get her something nice.

Decimal and Imperial aren't the same - 7 lbs 14.6 oz is 7.913 lbs. Yes, I'm being nit-picky, but it makes me wonder when I see a weight in the classifieds of 8.15 lbs if it's really 8.15 lbs or 8 lbs 15 ounces.
Rant over. Heh.
Congrats on the new bass!!!
You would think most people would know how to read their scale though if they go the trouble of weighing their instruments.
When you see accuracy to a thousandth of a pound, that's usually a good tipoff. a thousandth of a pound is about 7 grains of rice.
I definitely agree. I'm just saying that it's funny that someone that is so concerned about the weight of their instrument can't be bothered to learn about the tool they are using to weigh it. My new Stingray is the only instrument I have ever bothered to weigh and it was only because I was shocked at how light it was.
Thx- I’m just super-excited bout the weight!! all my basses go thru ‘rigorous’ mods... will be working on that in the coming weeks (hours). My Sonic Blue restore/refin may get parted-out... could ‘pinch’ the Tort from it?!? hmmm

Congrats on the new surprise! Please let me know if you part out the Sonic Blue P bass. What specifically is the body on it? (I ask because I have a '62 AVRI neck with the truss rod adjustment at the heal.
On a side note, I'm sure you'll find another spot to hang another...I'm in the same situation as my home office walls are full.![]()
Nice bass, nicer wife!
Neck staying stock?![]()

Of course I still have the cable and about another 30 more since then. The bass I actually traded a few weeks back for the same model bass, but a 4 string version. A Peavey Millennium loaded with MEC Dynamic Correction pickups out of a Warwick and a Tone Monster 2 band preamp. Not everybody can say they have a Peavey with Warwick pupsHaha... actually I find it pretty exciting *facetiousness noted* ... do ya still have the cable?!?![]()

Very torty!
That weight is outstanding! You owe your wife a closet full of shoes!So- went to GC to pick up a SM57 mic, yesterday, and checked out basses (of course)- saw this Player series P- said to wifey: ‘this feels really light... would be comfy for my back’... like I need another P bass
!
This morning wifey sez: ‘why don’t I buy if for you- for Valentines Day’?!? I ‘accepted’!!!
Just returned home (needs a setup, etc., badly)...
Got a few $ off & tried to get a gig bag (or something) thrown in... my guy check in the back & returns with a Fender (C&G) hard case... It is for a Jazz & I only use gig bags... but I took it- will sell (or donate) at some point
