‘Unintentional’ NBD

nice V day gift!.looks great with the tort now. "unhusbandly to say no"....you got that right!....now come valentines day, you better be saying yes allday/night long!!
Not sure about the QP's on a fresh P bass, were the originals not any good?....I have a pair on a squire affinity and not really impressed with the mid-scooped sound. Taking a while to get use to them.

Nice bass. Every Fender case I've seen fits both J's and Ps.

Make sure you get her something nice.

A J is an inch wider at the hips - I've encountered a (MIM) Fender case that fit a P snug and not a J. Just sayin'.

So- I’ve had a few QP’s, over the years, and have had one in my #1 since 2012. That bass had Roto SS 66’s until recently- now sporting GHS PW’s- as I’ve ‘softened’ my tone a bit ;). I’m going with flats, on the Player, liking the tone of QP’s! I, recently put a 10% overwound Fralin in my #2 (bass )... and have a 10% overwound ‘51 split coil (supposedly arriving today) for my... #3?

Here’s my, aforementioned, #1 (SD QP) :)

under 8 pound pbass. nice! i’m curious how much weight the quarter pound pickups added. maybe 4 ounces? and how much the high mass bridge will add.

So- went to GC to pick up a SM57 mic, yesterday, and checked out basses (of course ;))- saw this Player series P- said to wifey: ‘this feels really light... would be comfy for my back’... like I need another P bass  !

This morning wifey sez: ‘why don’t I buy if for you- for Valentines Day’?!? I ‘accepted’!!!

Just returned home (needs a setup, etc., badly)...

Got a few $ off & tried to get a gig bag (or something) thrown in... my guy check in the back & returns with a Fender (C&G) hard case... It is for a Jazz & I only use gig bags... but I took it- will sell (or donate) at some point

i’ve never seen a case with the accessory pocket there before.

i have 2 precision only cases. one is the silver fender 60th anniversary g&g, the other a tweed fender select g&g. too bad they don’t fit jazzes since i have way more jazzes than precisions.

So ( @CallMeAl ) got ‘er back from my tech www.philtone.com
- neck Plek’d, rolled edges, etc
- installed Fralin 10% overwound pup
- 500k pots with push/pull (series/parallel) tone pot

Hipshot HB7’s on backorder... mods (including Fender vintage hi-mass bridge) added a few ounces... now- just over 8lbs
