“IMHO”

I get it, society has become more cynical. Even so, terms like "IMHO" and "with all due respect" should be taken at face value. Usually. Sure, there are vulgar people who follow those terms with statements that are neither humble nor respectful, but I don't believe they represent the majority.

The ‘H’ used to bother me too back when I first started foruming, but now I take it as just a standard form. Like with beginning a business correspondence with ‘Dear’, especially to a fellow male — "Ewww. He’s not dear to me!", I used to think when I was a kid, but now I realize it’s just a pro forma introductory phrase that shows a certain level of polite formality. I mean, just ask Harold; he’ll tell ya
