A lot of posts lately have “IMHO” at the end of every sentence. Do we really need to be saying that all the time? Do we not all realise that what someone says is their opinion? And does it need to have the “H” in there? (“if you think you’re humble then you’re probably not”). Just my opinion

We say that so we don't have to deal with a smarta** response that says I'm wrong.

I’ll tell you why I starting to do it. I called somebody out on some thing I knew was wrong, and I was warned by the moderators that it was disrespectful, and that I should always put
“ in my opinion.” Obviously when I say something it is in my opinion but apparently you have to put that now, and I think you can actually say what you want then without getting scolded.

The ‘H’ used to bother me too back when I first started foruming, but now I take it as just a standard form. Like with beginning a business correspondence with ‘Dear’, especially to a fellow male — "Ewww. He’s not dear to me!", I used to think when I was a kid, but now I realize it’s just a pro forma introductory phrase that shows a certain level of polite formality. I mean, just ask Harold; he’ll tell ya

IMO, it stands for humble not honest. Regardless, I agree with the OP. Those who use IMHO really don't care about the H no matter what it stands for.
