So on this board i notice the o8 fender mia series get alot of praise... i have an 07 with the s1 switch. i went to a site where i entered in the serial number and it said i had a 07/08 bass... so does that mean i get the best of bost worlds?

You should decide for yourself what you think is good. Using SX as an example, some people hate SX while some people love them. It's all personal preference.
