#1 basses (Let's see 'em) [Poll]

i have one that i call my "main" or my "#1"....
...but i have another (almost the same), and the two are so close they're interchangeable if they have the same string set.
i also have a "variety" = and they're my #1/main when i'm playing them, so: i'm not sure how to rate my own axes any more!
i prefer PJs or two-pickup axes but my P-basses are so much fun that i'd say they're all cut out for the same "application" (in my world).
TL;DR --- maybe i do, maybe i don't!
I have five basses which, in my opinion, are all pedigree instruments but one has mojo I can't explain - it's not built as well as the others but it is lighter and sounds bigger. The string have been on nearly a year and the harmonics ring louder than the new sets of strings on the other basses! It's a Precision so feels more expressive than my Jazz. I play the others because I know how blessed I am but the P makes me feel like a bass player.
I had multiple #1s for different things, and then I bought my Dingwall Super J. Now it's the only one I play on every gig I do across many different genres and styles. I bring one of the previous #1s as a backup just in case but they've not been gigged once since acquiring the Super J.
While each of my basses serves a specific function in my mind, I still refer to my Elrick NJS as my #1 because we get along so well. It’s the most playable bass I’ve ever had in my hands.
My Sire is my baby . It's my lightest , it sounds and plays great and the pre is very versatile . Passive works fine too . My other three basses sound just as good as the Sire but the Sire is just my overall favorite .

Not #1, but it does get played a lot!
My 84pb551 came to me completely beat to .... I lost it even for a couple years ( long story)... It has been modded alot and through all of that remains my #1!!! Also have another 84pb551 as my backup, both have seen years of constant gigging...
Variety of tones is the spice of life. Nice to hear different instruments and what they do.I'm curious... how many TBers have a #1 bass? Or are you like me and you have a variety of basses that are each #1 for their specified application?

I would't call it "my baby," but it's been number 1 for a long time.
There have been other basses, and they are fun to play, but when it comes time to do the thing I just can't really justify any other bass...

I primarily play DB and only have one, a 38 Kay. My relatively new Ibanez fretless 6 has pretty quickly become #1 for BG.
