I have a custom cabinet that is loaded with a JBL K-140 and K-110. Overall, it sounds nice, but there is a lot of mid information, between 400hz and 800hz. I'd like to keep the high end extension, and even make it more, but reduce the mids. So, I'm thinking of either rebuilding the crossover to raise the frequency at which the K-110 kicks in (and lower the overall output a bit) or finding a driver that would be more focused on the upper end of the frequency range. If the cab weren't cut out for a 10" speaker already, I'd probably just go for an 18 sound mid a la fEARful, but it's not. I love the sound of the mids from the K-140, so I'm just looking for a bit more crispness. Going to a Neo 10" would be nice to also save some weight.
