10 most popular classic rock songs?

I'm relatively new to the bass and I keep coming across opportunities to join classic rock / rock blues bands. I'm hesitant to jump into this because I don't know any songs. I figure if I can get at least 10 songs in my repertoire it would be a good start.

Can anyone recommend which 10 songs would be the most popular classic rock cover band songs. Classic rock to me means anything from the 60's to the 80's.

Thanks,

Our act does a lot of classic / progressive rock. We cover tunes from:

Kansas, Boston, Styx, Journey, Rush, Zepp, Who, Yes, Deep Purple, Steely Dan, Chicago, Toto , Foreigner, Queen, Triumph, Dream Theater, The Tubes, Eddie Money, Van Halen, Extreme, Warrant, Winger, Ozzy Osburne, Saga, Head East, White Lion, Zebra, The Beatles, 707, Guns & Roses, Bon Jovi, and more.

The more tunes you know how to play, the more in demand you'll be.

Have fun - now get to the Shed and learn some tunes!

If you're getting offers, that's great. You really need to tell the musicians who approach you where you are in your skill and experience level. Then get their song list or recordings and start learning the songs.

If you want to learn the songs first so you can be prepared to audition or jam, I understand that. Search set list threads, as mentioned above. Or go see some local bands to see which songs continually appear in the play lists. Go to "jam nights" if bars in your area have them. You'll get an idea of which songs everyone is supposed to know.

"Classic rock from 60's-80's" is TOO broad a category to narrow down to ten most popular songs. BUT here are a few that my band learned because people kept asking for them:

Mustang Sally
Brown Eyed Girl
Old Time Rock And Roll
Gimme Three Steps
(Oh) Pretty Woman
Born To Be Wild
The Breakup Song
Wonderful Tonight

Of course there are TONS of classic rock songs from the 80's and 90's too.

Add:

Whipping Post

Sunshine of Your Love
Can't Get Enough of Your Love
Freebird
Comfortably Numb

I better stop. You already have more than 10. But, you really need to know a lot of tunes to be in demand. Or, at least you need to be known for being able to learn quickly.
