I shortened the headstock a little bit and found the chip at the driveway, don't worry, looks fine.

Next step is shaping the neck. I have to hurry a little bit, "End of August" is not far!

I was at my hardwood supplier yesterday and saw a piece of ash that would have been the perfect size for a neck. I wondered how it would hold up as a neck. Looking forward to seeing how yours does.

I have always had great success with cheap tuners off amazon. They take pride of place on all my bass guitars.
Mine were awful! I bought 8 (2 sets of 4 for a 6 string build) and 2 broke. On one the gear actually popped out as I tightened it...almost gave me a heart attack! Couldn't reassemble as the inner thread was worn so drowned it in superglue and it seems ok.

Can't go wrong for the price though, about 10% of hipshots etc!
