1001 Watts - Make your rig

Hi All,

Do you know the 1001 nights book ? Well, here I'll ask for a different fantasy exercise...

Here the homework for the good will TBer to answer, what rig would you come up if those are the specs:

- about 1000 W
- between 2500 and 4000 $
- head + cabinet(s) OR pre-amp + power-amp + cabinet(s)

So... is your fantasy at work ?

Hmmm.... I'll go with an Epifani Quest II preamp, a Crown XLS 602 power amp, and a 4 ohm Avatar B10 Neo.... Oh wait, thats not fantasy, thats what I own!

That's an easy one for me, too. Euphonic Audio iAmp 800 head, and 2 x 4-ohm NL210 cabs. ALthough I must say I'm tempted by the ultra-modular rig of 4 x 8-ohm CXL-112L cabs with the same amp ...

Aphex 204 Aural Exciter

2 x 2x12" celestion cabs build by a professional
Avatar SB112 Neo.

Within two months the heavy 2x12" cabs will be replaced by a Schroeder 1212 light.

Cannot wait .....

Loud, precise, articulate, light:

The new Epi 902 Stereo (2000 watts) and two 310UL's... that would be a rig! ( and since the new 902 can be run with only once cab using one 'side' of the amp... it would also be a great smaller gig rig also).

or.... my 'big gig' rig... Glock Heart Rock (due in next week) into a 4ohm Epi410UL or Schroeder 21012Light.... a wonderful lightweight (even with the HR, the entire rig is still only about 90 pounds and in two pieces... so each piece is very light... no wrestling with a 90 pound cab, etc.) and what I assume will be a very, very clean, articulate sound.

1100 watts per side. Probably over budget. But oh so good.

If I have roadies, IP310. Done.

If not, then I'd have to go with 4 EA NL-210's, a CA9, and an amp head of choice. That way I could use all four cabs and the CA9 with the preamp from the head for "big stuff" and the head and 1-2 cabs for small stuff. Done. I'd have to struggle over which amp head for a while...

If I have to stay within 1000 watts, I'm going with a TD-1 into a Bergantino IP-310.

If I can go larger, I'll go with Ken's Epi setup he listed...Epi 902UL into a pair of 310UL's...I can knock down walls with that!
