Roadies for an IP310 and not for four cabs, a rather heavy amp and a head? :confused: Dude, 85 lbs in a compact package really isn't all that bad. And you do know it has wheels, right? ;) :p

I'd rather lift 40 pounds twice than 85 pounds once. It's a lot harder to torque your back accidentally with less weight and smaller boxes. :)

Also, I find casters mildly helpful... seems like there's always steps and whatnot you gotta navigate pretty frequently. Then there's stuff like uneven concrete or gravel...

But you'd rather lift 44 lbs four times (with no ability to roll over flat surfaces), 47 lbs (more with a rack), and a head of unknown origin than lift 84 lbs (in a comfortably-shaped package) over the occassional steps/uneven ground? I love the NL-210's, and I love the CA9, but an IP310 really is a pretty darn easy load, IME/IMHO.

I now know what to get you for your birthday! Would you prefer free weights, or a membership to the YMCA? ;) :p :D

You make good points, but I just swore off the big heavy boxes.

I slipped on some gravel a while back while holding one of my 210XLT cabs, and those are only about 70lbs, which is heavy for a 210, but not really "heavy". I really hurt for about a week... pretty stiff. So yeah, as crazy as it sounds, I would make more trips. However, in reality, I'd probably use a hand truck.

Now before you say the IP310 will also fit on a hand truck, which is true, I still have to do all the lifting and such to load in and out of vehicles, on stage, steps, etc. Getting my 210 out of my car is how I torqued my back last time, and quite frankly, even their weight is the reason I sold those cabs. Otherwise, I loved them. I know a guy with a 410XLT and cover he'd love to blow out cheap, but as awesome as it sounds, I ain't touchin' that 95 pound beast. :)

Thing is, eventually, you know they'll come out with a NEO or some other lighter weight solution, and then I'll be in serious serious trouble... SERIOUS trouble... :)

I now know what to get you for your birthday! Would you prefer free weights, or a membership to the YMCA? ;) :p :D

I can't help but bust your chops, man. ;) I do apologize if I am coming across a little harsh (and I am confident that you are not taking it that way, or else I wouldn't 'go there'). But having picked up and moved the IP cabs numerous times, the IP310 and IP212 really do seem very managable to me. But then again, I am more on the 'brutish' side... :D

Dang! It's true! I couldn't believe it... I had to look. Even the 210XST comes in a 4ohm config. That's just nuts... makes no sense to ONLY offer that kind of power handling in a 8ohm config. Crazy. I assume this means the drivers only come in 8 and 16 ohms. I wonder why...

Nah, man, it's all good. I've had enough trim to last me two lifetimes, I ain't worried about it. :D

Seriously tho, yeah, I'm sure I could handle it without any real problems... it'd just be all about lifting properly. Heck, you can hurt yourself with even 50 pounds if you do the wrong thing.

Thing is, I just have this little voice in the back of my head telling me "this is only the beginning, better and lighter solutions are coming, because that's what folks want". :)

Seein' as I don't have the moolah for one anyway, makes it kinda easy, too. I'm thinkin' bout some quilted birdseye and a bottle of fine single-malt, baby... ;)

P.S. Cheeze, you GOTTA check out some Bushmills Malt -- it's Irish Whiskey, so not as peaty, but it's single-malt, smooth, and kicks a$$.

...trust me... :)
